Hudson Pant Front

There are big changes happening here in the Clevenger house!  If you follow me on Instagram you may know that I recently announced that Eric (my husband) took a new job in a different state.  This is something we have been preparing for a few months now.  Knowing we would have to be moving about this time I knew immediately what I wanted to make for this months project.  I wanted something that I would be comfortable in while packing boxes and it could not be pajama pants.  I wanted something a little more stylish that I could wear all day and still leave the house to walk the dogs in.  Enter the True Bias Hudson Pants! I have had this pattern for quite some time now, but have never gotten around to making it.  While “window shopping” Cali Fabrics I came across this Denim Blue French Terry and immediately fell in love.  I have never sewn French Terry before and it was on my to do list, so I snatched it up.  This fabric is perfect for this pattern!  It was super easy to sew up.  I even used a contrast navy for the waistband, cuffs and side stripes.  I did add 3″ wide elastic to the cuffs to help give them a better fit for me.  I don’t know if I can adequately express just how much I love these pants!  I am definitely going to be making more of these in the near future.  I currently have my eye on this Forest Green Cotton French Terry for my next pair.

I also needed a top to go with these joggers.  I was drawn to this Black on Red Slubbed Knit.  I thought that this shade of red would look amazing with the navy and denim I wanted to use for my joggers.  When it came in the mail I was not disappointed in my choices.  I choose to make the DIY Dixie Summer Concert Tee but I wanted to make it a little different then all the other versions I have made.  I scooped out the back to be similar to the front.  Then I made some straps and crisscrossed them in the back.  It is a littler longer in the back than I would like but it works for a casual outfit.

When I found the red knit I also found this Navy on Aqua Slubbed Knit.  I really liked it to so I decided to get it to use for a second top to wear with my joggers.  For this top I used McCall’s 7286 in view B.  I really like that this top has a raglan sleeve and curves at the  hem of the side seams.  All in all I am really pleased with how these three pieces turned out.
